Cystic Fibrosis Cystic Fibrosis is the most chronic lung disease amongst children and teens. Cystic Fibrosis is a disease passed down through the parents, if both parents have the defective CF gene then it is passed down to the spawn. About 1,000 cases of Cystic Fibrosis are diagnosed each year, 70,000 people today suffer with this disease. Out of those 70,000 people, my nephew is one of those diagnosed with this disease.
